ClickSuite Talk
Today we had a talk from Emily from ClickSuite. I really like ClickSuite's work and use of new technology. It has inspired me to look into the idea of augmented reality. ClickSuite did a project where you look through binoculars and see a butterfly and interact with it with a wand.. I like the idea of the user in a tranquil sleep space when they walk in but then looking through a portal or relevant gadget or mind something into an insomniac experience.. This technology could be fun to pursue with the idea of a physical object interaction fueling the feel of the design.

“A reflection sometimes exposes more reality than the object it echoes.”

Remember what I was saying about mirrors and seeing things you don't see without them?
I enjoy that idea. I'm not sure how it would work though.
P.s. this is what i posted by accident on the entry below but I had to move it because it didn't make any sense down there. Now it looks as if i'm hiding a comment or something.
Sounds great! You should also check out the research being produced by HITlab in Christchurch - http://www.hitlabnz.org/
ReplyDeleteThey are world-leaders in AR. They gained a lot of attention with their magic book project: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FTVxSvN3YW0
As a side note, they are also very eager to collaborate with us, and are always looking for summer interns. Depending on what you end up proposing, you may be able to get some support (at the very least, feedback) from their lab.
